Boy, did I get beat up at this con! Blisters, bruises, cuts, so many damn bandages.

Acen has been the one con I'm most excited to always attend. Every year I get really into it! There's a ton of reasons but the main reason I love Acen is the fact I get to see my best friend (and partner) during the con every year. We've gone together for two years now!

5 Days of hard working, hard moving, and hard cosplaying.

Thursday (The Traveling Day)
There's nothing to really talk about with the con on this day, since well I don't go to the pre-con parties. I travel 8-10 hours to the Chicago, IL from my home in Pittsburgh, PA. It's always fun to drive that far but its really taxing. To be honest it's one of my favorite parts and feels shorter every year.
This was my bag!

This was my bag!

We only stopped once, believe it or not. The Ohio Turnpike has some really heckin' awesome rest stops. That night when we got to our hotel we ended up meeting up with some friends at our traditional and local Dennys. Not too exciting, huh?

Friday (Yammy Day!)
Friday was hard. I didn't get much sleep the night before and ended up getting a fever very early in the morning. To be honest it wouldn't stop me, nothing stops me before a con (even more so if I've traveled that far for it).
I got dressed into my Yammy cosplay! I cosplayed as Yammy from Sabagebu!, which was a weird cosplay I'll admit. No one really recognized me so after awhile I decided to just wear more comfortable tights and shoes for all the walking I had to do since absolutely no one would care.
Hopefully when I hang out with my cuter friends, I'll be able to cosplay as Yammy again but with more Sabagebu cosplayers! More people will totally recognize me then. Even if they don't, it'd probably still just be fun to Sabagebu around.
Friday morning was hard with traveling. We checked into our room at the Hyatt, the hotel Acen takes place in, we realized my shoes were a mistake. I was in pain for a majority of the weekend! It really sucked. I kept having to stop and catch my pain-breath every few moments.
We got my badge (which wasn't an awful wait), and went to check out the dealers hall. I already knew what I wanted. I had a mission. I planned this shit. I got all of what I wanted and more. to be honest. I wish I had a bit more cash though so I could've gotten even more stuff but eh!

I got the Super Pochaco winter figure (of course!), a Wooly the Sheep plush, and a Gala-chan teeshirt. I actually was planning on buying the Galaxxxy/Attack the Music shirt so I put money aside for that but the exact color and size I wanted was the last Gala-chan available!

We went to tons of photoshoots since my partner was press for Acen. He took so many pictures all weekend! I'll put a link to his gallery here when it's finally posted! It might be awhile though.
I hate saying it but we actually didn't do too-too much on Friday. We walked around a lot, took some pictures of me, and ate.
I totally forgot, but the fire alarm glitched really late in the evening. I ended up standing outside in my PJs for an hour or two.

Saturday (Half-Pochaco day!)
Saturday. Oooh boy Saturday. I woke up exhausted on Saturday and ended up getting really-really sick in the morning. I was dizzy, puking, etc. Mess mess mess
I started feeling better after I saw how cute I looked dressed as Super Pochaco. I always love cosplaying as Pochaco, she's my absolute favorite to wear! I feel really confident whenever I have her wig on. That's really lame, but it's just the truth. I noticed I forgot Pochaco's necklace!
Sadly though my cosplay doesn't show nearly enough cleavage. I think next time I wear it I'm going to seriously cut the shirt down so I show a lot-lot more since that's kind of the point with her character.
We ended up having an awful and busy morning and didn't officially get to go out and enjoy the con until around 1PM! By then we just headed straight to photoshoots. It was disgustingly hot and my friends were all wearing black cosplays.
Sadly-sadly in the afternoon I ended up getting hurt. I fell over and cut up my knee pretty bad. A giant patch of blood was on my tights for the entire weekend! It sucked so bad. I ended up crashing really bad after that happened and had to go up to the room for a few hours. I took a nap, chilled, and just kind of wasted Saturday. I regret it a lot, but I guess I couldn't control the fact that I got so hurt. I was already limping to begin with, now it was just ridiculous.
My friends ended up not having that much fun without me around but they all went off to try and do their on things. I tried getting dressed in just some cute clothes to wander around the con but I was too tired and decided to head back.
I stayed in the room for the rest of the night! I missed a lot of cool stuff.
Side note,

If you can't read this, the cafe at the Hyatt changed to have some menu items for Acen. They always get really into it, so it's kind of cool to see what they do. They offered items like the "Manga Frappuccino", "Espresso Brownie Pocky", and "Sparkle Anime Cupcake." I didn't actually try them since I don't eat in cosplay but if you did, comment below and tell me if the cupcake actually sparkled!

Sunday Morning (Full Pocha-Pocha-Pochacoo!!)
Wow! After sleeping so much (I got a good 6-8 hours) I felt so much better! I could limp easier and I had the stamina to wear my cosplay. I got all dressed but in the middle of getting dressed I had to run a few errands for my press partner. Sadly a few people got photos of me with half of my cosplay on! I forgot my apron upstairs. Gah
Sunday was so much fun! After the mess of getting all of our junk in the car and cleaning up the room we ended up not having much to do. This was when we decided to have some fun! We headed to the game room to talk to some friends and watch some people play games and found this really super cool newer drum game called NeonFM! Here's some footage of people playing it.
We walked around some more and went to the dealers room to just chill. I ended up buying the sweetest and most unexpected piece of merch ever! I had no idea there'd be Cinderella Girls merch with actual game-art still around since the excuse for an anime just aired in January. And, holy shit, it has my top 2 favorite girls on it right next to each other!

After that I ended up running to the Crunchyroll livestream! I was there for awhile.

See that tiny little yellow head? That was me! I was totally in the front for the rest of it but Maridah's greatness caused everyone to run ahead. Totally awesome though! Streaming is so much fun at cons!
We stayed until the dealers room closed and then it was goodbye Acen! To be honest there weren't too many programs/panels I wanted to go to this year. I wasn't too bummed I missed out on things since well... there wasn't really anything I wanted to go to!
I wanted to see Scandal, the musical guest, but I didn't have the stamina to wait in line and get into their concert.
Leaving cons is always fun because you see everyone acting all sleepy!
I changed in the car and we headed to go get some ice cream. We love Coldstone ice cream! I always get a cotton candy with marshmallows. Favorite flavor!
The coldstone we went to was right by Gameworks, a giant arcade like place with a bar and food and tons of fun fun fuuun stuff! I took tons of pictures and I'll have them up on tumblr. It was honestly the highlight of the weekend! It's totally going to be a new tradition for me and my friends. I was the only one who hadn't been there before so we had tons of tickets to spend!
My friend got a shotglass and I got a mameshiba plushy! 800 tickets!

After that all we did was go on a walk and head home to sleep. I was so exhausted from how much pain I was in and ended up passing out super super quick.
There's nothing much to say on Monday. The morning I ended up being able to finally have KFC again! And then we hit the road.
We were driving for at least 10 hours.
While we were driving we saw a rainbow! Sadly that was my favorite, favorite part of the weekend.
Well! Acen was really fun. I'd rate it about a 6/10 this year just because of how much pain I was in. I'll be uploading pictures to Instagram, Tumblr, and I made lots of great tweets on Twitter.
