So as I was searching around for a fun way to cure it - I decided to just try an old recipe my friends use to use.
ACV, or Apple cider vinegar, is an organic vinegar made from cider. It's rumored to have properties for weight loss, hair/nail strengthening, and acne curing. The reason I say "rumored" and not proven is because it's not proven. Like a lot of organic, natural, DIY things it's usually up to how it works on the consumer /tester, which is why this is a 2 part blog post! In a month I'll get back to you and tell you if it worked!
The brand I'm using is BRAGG's!
Even on the bottle (not shown) they're advertising for other health/organic recipes for other uses of ACV. Wowwy~!
My first thoughts when opening it was "wow there sure is a lot" and "wow this stuff smells so bad." It really, really stinks... It is vinegar though so I don't know what I expected.
Instead of ingesting it like some recipes tell you - I'm going to be using ACV as a toner.
The recipe I used was a 1:1 ratio of ACV and distilled water. And then, like a toner, you apply it to your face when you are done cleansing and let it dry before putting on serums or moisturizers. I haven't used anything besides cleansing or soothing toners until now.
My first try, I noticed it stings when you use the toner. The acidic properties of ACV are a bit stronger than I like - but only a day after and my skin is looking a bit less red. Hopeful hoping this is a sign!
I'll get back to you in a month with more results, and more DIY beauty tips until then!
